Clash of Times: Federer vs Sampras

It was a great anticipation for the match between Federer and Sampras... You don't often get superstars of tennis coming to Malaysia... It's a great honour to be there...
Two best tennis players of past and future there competing is like nothing you can see often although it's just a friendly match...

And the stage is set for what could be a memorable day for me...


My first live tennis match or rather my first time watching any game in a stadium...
I once watch football match when i was very very young with my father in Stadium Kubu but i guess that doesn't count...LOL

The opening act was traditional Malaysian dance,


After that,
The arrival of Pete Sampras,

14-time Grand Slam winner, legend of tennis from United States of America

And the arrival of Roger Federer,

11-time Grand Slam winner and current world no. 1 from Switzeland...

The Stadium was pack to the max and even the Yang Dipertuan Agong was there to watch...

And the passionate fans

I was one of the proud fans...

During the match, the atmosphere was fantastic... You can hear, "come on Pete", "We love you, Pete", "You're the best, Pete"... Seems like there were many Sampras fans out there that night or rather they were the noisy ones..haha

Both of the champions put up some really good performance for the crowds although it's just a friendly match...Some good rallies, powerful serves, nice volleys and amusing character too...
They did really entertained the crowd...

In the end, Federer won with straight sets... It was a close one though, Federer won both tie-breaks 7-6, 7-6...

I have to say that it was a superb experience for me, watching live that is... Have to thank Uncle Chen for informing me, my third uncle for the ticket and my cousins for fetching me there...

Nice Settings

Work in KLCC the other day selling Nina Ricci perfume.
First time i'm hearing of it but already selling it.. LOL..
Saw this promo in the main concourse of KLCC..
It's a nice setting...

They even brought in a car..

Best Burger in UM

Let me introduce to the best burgers in town.. We UM students call it KL gate burger.
The reason for the name is pretty obvious, it is located just outside the KL gate of UM...

Its humble stall, barely big enough but serve some very good burgers...


One may be spoilt for choice when you see the variety... From normal burgers to special one, to special mayonnaise to double special mayonnaise for both chicken and beef...
They have hotdog and banjo too.. Banjo is egg burger if you wonder...

Now for the process of making the burgers,

First, fry the burgers...


Special burger comes with egg...


Add some peppers and soya sauce...


Wrap it up with the egg...


All the spices...


Decorate the breads nicely with cabbages, onions, and chilli sauce. Spread a generous amount of mayonnaise after the meat...

And,

Walla, here comes the burger... Finger licking good...

Blurrrr Case

I was at McD burning midnight oil while watching Champions League, then about 4.15 am came this 2 fellas apparently students that woke up in the morning too early to study...
Then i thought, nothing special about them, just look "just-wake-up" so i ignored them...
After a while, something caught my eyes,

"Si Ham"???

I have been wanting to post this but what the hell, i couldn't come up with the name in English... Oyster? nope... Scallop?? NO.... Mussel??? NOOO......
Just don't know what to call it...
So i'm hoping some of you can enlighten me...
My mind is kinda stuff with chemistry stuffs...

Well, i know what is it called in Hokkien, "Si Ham"
So let me tell you where to eat the best "si ham"

In this dark alley barely litted somewhere in Jalan Bunga Raya of Melaka, there stood a magnificent stall only the locals will know of once upon a time...
My grandpa ate here, my father and I now eat here.... It has been generation of cravings...
I don't used to eat this 'si ham' thingy cos to me it's kinda look scary... But after having my first bite with the groundnut based sauce, i couldn't help but keep eating...

It is how it looks like... Actually these are the empty shells... LOL

This is the recipe that keep customer flooding in...

I have to tell you all, if you are those eeewww-that-doesn't-look-hygienic-type, don't bother stopping by cos the best food ain't that clean...




Just look at the crowd, good food doesn't need to be serve in a nicely decorated, air conditioned, high class kinda of place...
If you can put aside you ego and status or rank, you may have just taste the best food in town...


The seats are those Japanese kinda of small chair with short-legged table... I wonder if we, the Malaccan have started this method of sitting and the Japanese think that it's a good idea when they invade the hell out of us...LOL

Apparently, there is this guy called Jason, a famous food TV show host, had visited this place and left his remarks... Well done...

fyi, none of my family member have stomachache after the meal... So either it means that the food is clean or we have a strong stomach, you judge...
